National Fitness Day 22nd September

September 24, 2021

After a successful National Fitness Day on 22nd September, it’s now time to take stock of some of the benefits that physical activity can and should play across the UK.

The event was set up to raise awareness of the need for healthy lifestyles, and the benefits that can be gained from community engagement in sport and physical activity.

New US Open champion, British tennis player Emma Raducanu, is an excellent advocate for the importance of physical activity. From a young age, she explored multiple activities, from golf and go-karting to horse-riding and skiing. Each requiring use of her ability and coordination, she was able to pick these up with ease.

National fitness day featured a wide range of activity options from plank offs, Pilates and treadmill challenges: all activities that have the capacity to start a revolution in physical activity across the country.

For more information on the event and the impact it had across the country, see here.
