Sport Wales has announced a new capital fund with the aim of benefitting a number of new sporting projects for communities across Wales. Thirty projects will be receiving the funding, including sports projects in BMXing, boxing, netball, and fencing.
The fund is part of a new long-term bid to assure the future of the leisure facilities by making them more energy efficient and sustainable.
The projects include:
- A £470,261 grant to refurbish Plascrug Leisure Centre in Aberystwyth
- A £40K grant to invest in 8 new boxing rings in Wales
- A £27,399 grant to upgrade its mobile shooting range
- An award of £261,558 for Blaenau Gwent County for energy-efficient leisure facilities
