ukactive has announced the appointment of three new board members; Olympic gold medallist Amy Williams MBE, PR specialist Victoria O’Byrne and management consultant Kay Cox. The three new board members will bring a new brand of expertise to the board.
These appointments come as ukactive drives forward its Vision 2030 strategy and at an important time for the physical activity sector. Two of the three, Amy and Victoria, will join as non-executive members.
New board member, Amy Williams, is the first solo Winter Olympics champion in 30 years, winning her medal in the skeleton. Victoria O’Byrne is the ex-Communications Secretary to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, specialising in communications and corporate affairs. And Katy Cox is a freelance management consultant with experience in both the public sector and commercial organisations.
Non-executive board members will take their positions with immediate effect. The appointments mark Mike Farrar’s first appointments since taking over from the Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson.
