On the 26th of October, top operators, suppliers and facilities from across the physical activity sector gathered to celebrate the ukactive Awards at the Royal Armouries in Leeds. Professor Greg Whyte OBE and award-winning author and PT Laura Hoggins hosted the awards.
The awards demonstrated some of the most innovative approaches to physical activity in the UK.
The Outstanding Organisation of the Year Award and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Award was won by Places Leisure, with Les Mills UK winning the Supplier of the Year Award for reaching Gen Z audiences. And for their user-led programming for upskilling and retaining staff, Study Active received the Education Provider of the Year Award.
Other award winners included GM Active for its Prehab4Cancer programme and Greenwich Leisure Limited for the Sands Centre site in Carlisle. Huw Edwards, CEO of ukactive added:
“The ukactive Awards are a real opportunity to come together and celebrate all the great work our sector does, day in and day out, and the celebrations were felt throughout the night.
“The finalists this year have showcased some amazing ways that our sector not only unites communities but really furthers the health and wellbeing of our nation.”
