UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson’s announcement of a third lockdown has prompted The Sport for Development Coalition (SDC) to encourage an ‘adapt and modify’ model for organisations with wider sports-based outcomes.
The new flexibility model demands that where possible organisations in the sports activities industry and beyond should look for ways to continue supporting their communities safely through the lockdown.
In the updated guidance on the new lockdown restrictions, Sport England has provided sports organisations with some much-needed direction as to what the lockdown means for sports and physical education.
For now, there is vital information on what funding is still available for organisations by Sport England, with guidance from Sport Scotland available from the 7th January. Sport Wales recently updated its guidance, as lockdowns – which started at Christmas – continued there.
