Bikeability has introduced a new guide designed to make cycle training delivery more readable and friendly. The new changes include activity ideas that improve instructors’ sessions by making them more engaging.
Whilst the guide doesn’t require retraining, Bikeabilitiy advises that all instructors make themselves aware of the new Cycle Training Delivery Guide. The guideline expands the REPPROC, which stands for what good cycle training should be: Realistic; Empowering; Positive; Progressive; Rider-led; Outcome–orientated; and Continuously assessed.
Specific updates include:
- The Highway Code, safeguarding and risk-benefit assessments, moving groups of riders
- Tips and strategies for supporting riders of all ages, abilities and needs
- Active learning and inclusivity
- The Bikeability programme outlined for those registered to deliver the programme
The content has been revamped for readability, including The Ride Guide, Activity plans, as well as additional resources and new delivery guidance.
