The South Yorkshire Tech 100 Report has cited Coordinate Sport as a key business in the tech ecosystem for the region. The report highlights the top 100 most influential startups and scaleups across Barnsley, Sheffield, Doncaster, and Rotherham. The companies mentioned employ almost 4000 people across South Yorkshire and have raised more than £720 million in funding.
South Yorkshire has become one of the leading regions for tech investment and early-stage tech companies in the last four years. In 2022 alone, more than 400 tech companies formed in the region, a 14% increase from the previous year. They join an ever-developing ecosystem that already boasts 3000 active tech startups. The main clusters of innovation include AI, data analytics, and NetZero companies.
New data from data platform Beauhurst has revealed that the region’s tech startups have secured equity funding totalling more than £52.6m in 2022, 40% higher than the comparable time in 2021. Coordinate Sport has been named one of the key frontrunners in the SportTech industry alongside Sport:80, a sports business management company and Uropanet Ltd Tech, a company responsible for real-time sports video analytics.
