Does the fitness industry support equality and diversity? WIFA research seeks to raise the game

The Women in Fitness Association (WIFA) will be working with Sport Alliance to find out whether the fitness industry is supportive of equality and diversity. They will be surveying those currently employed in the fitness industry. The survey will examine gender diversity, equity, equality, and inclusion in the fitness industry.

All employees in the sector are invited to participate and the results are set to be released in the second quarter of 2022. Jennifer Halsall-de-Wit, COO at WIFA sees this as an opportunity to discuss subjects not regularly addressed by the sector. She added:

“This study on gender diversity and equity will be a living project. We plan to continuously collect data to monitor developments. Every voice counts and we welcome everyone’s contribution to this important issue.”

The survey will identify and analyse unrecognised concerns and make actionable recommendations. The goal is to take proactive steps to progress the industry and strengthen the image of the global fitness sector.
