According to the results of The 2023 Workforce State of Mind Survey published last month, employers need to take action to support their workforce with their fitness. The report connected the prevalence of mental health issues with the widening gap in protection and support provided by employers toward physical activity.
The survey, now in its third year, looked at responses from 918 individuals and 68 employers in the physical activity and fitness sector.
It was found that more than half had experienced a mental health issue in the last 12 months, and only 9% of employee respondents had said that there are regular checks on their mental health at work. That is down in 2022, where the figure was 11%.
