The PE and Sport Premium monitoring tool is a new digital tool being introduced by the government to increase accountability. It was built to ensure that schools could use the PE and Sport Premium funding effectively. The tool will capture details on how schools have used the funding and its impact, including:
- Figures on the overall spend
- What funding is spent on
- Whether there is any unspent funding
- Swimming and water safety attainment
The tool will be piloted in the 2023 to 2024 academic year and will be mandatory for schools to complete from the 2024 to 2025 academic year. Schools will be required to complete the digital form by the end of each academic year.
The government will monitor published reports and investigate any concerns or discrepancies, taking appropriate action if needed, which may include recovering funding.
