The theme of this years’ National Sport Week will be ‘Together Again’, as young people in schools and communities across the country, come together for an array of sports days and events.
Now that restrictions are lifting, young people who have missed out on all sorts of activity from team sports to self-directed play will now be able to do this together, for the first time since the restrictions began.
The national campaign to get schools moving started in 2008 and has been going from strength to strength since. In 2020, Youth Sport Trust in collaboration with Sky Sports got more than 7000 registrants for a week of activities from home.
This year the week will be running from Saturday 19th to Friday 25th June, and each sign up will receive a free set of resources from Youth Sport Trust. Schools, families and communities across the UK who sign up will be prompted to share just how they will make the celebration a reality.
National Sport Week is being run in association with European School Sports Day, which this year will be happening on the 24th of September.
