The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on a Fit and Healthy Childhood is a cross-party group formed in 2013 to promote evidence-based discussion and produce reports on issues related to childhood health and wellbeing in the UK. The group advocates for policies and initiatives that support children’s physical activity, nutrition, and overall fitness.

Last month, they released a report titled Fair Play for Girls, highlighting the urgent need for equitable opportunities for girls in physical activity and sport across the UK. It examines the impact of entrenched barriers of misogyny, funding disparities, prejudice, and inequality. These barriers deter girls from participating in physical activity and deny them opportunities for sport in their daily lives, essential for their health and wellbeing.
