This Girl Can, a groundbreaking campaign by Sport England, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month. Launched in January 2015, the campaign has been instrumental in encouraging women and girls to become more physically active. With £30 million in National Lottery funding, the initiative has achieved remarkable success.
Over three million more women are now active compared to when the campaign started. Eight in ten women reported increased confidence to get active. This Girl Can has made it its mission to break down barriers and empower women to move their bodies in their own way.
The campaign has transformed millions of lives across England by challenging traditional perceptions of women’s physical activity and promoting inclusivity in sports and exercise.
