Yorkshire, home to Sky’s Digital Division and Channel 4’s new national HQ, has seen the fastest growth of anywhere in the UK in IT & Digital. New analysis released ahead of the Leeds Digital Festival has shown that IT jobs in the region have increased by a massive 36%, with more competitive salaries on their way up too.
The report has indicated that the county’s digital tech sector is likely to grow substantially over the next four years. After the first eight months of the year saw Yorkshire tech companies raise nearly 120m, the expectation is that the sector will grow by at least 1.6 bn in annual GVA (Gross Value Added) by 2025.
Andrew Hunter, the co-founder of Adzuna, said: “Highly skilled digital workers are very much in demand in Yorkshire with employees including Sky, Channel 4, and Asda vying for talent alongside growing startups.”
“As the sector continues this growth streak, salaries are likely to become more competitive as businesses aim to attract more staff.”
