Allianz and the Youth Sport Trust have collaborated to launch MoveNow festivals to improve children’s and young people’s wellbeing, which will allow them to try new sports and understand the benefits of an active lifestyle.
These festivals introduce secondary school children to Olympic and Paralympic sports in a fun environment. The festivals are run by Youth Sport Trust, Athlete Mentors, Young Leaders, and Allianz volunteers. As inclusive events, they aim to inspire over 2,000 children to be active before the Olympic and Paralympic Games in the summer.
The MoveNow program by Allianz includes initiatives like youth sport activations, career expos, and sports challenges. The programme focuses on moving the body, mind, and soul of young people to prepare them for the future. They have partnered with sports legends like Portia Modise and Dumisani Chauke, encouraging students to engage in sports activities for improved mental and physical wellbeing.
The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a decrease in physical activity among young people globally. Studies show that regular physical activity has a significant impact on mental and physical wellbeing. Initiatives like MoveNow aim to address this decline by providing opportunities for young people to engage in sports activities.
