Last month the government released updated guidance for the School Sport and Activity Action Plan and the PE and Sport Premium. For the sector, this confirms the government’s commitment to physical activity funding and recognising the need to improve equal access for boys and girls.
The updated guidance provides schools with the details of a digital tool to help schools spend their allocation. It details the options on how to spend the Premium to, for example, improve teaching and offer an increased range of sports or options for pupil competitions.
The plan further confirms how the School Sport and Activity Plan will support teachers and schools in the delivery of the two high-quality hours of PE, competitive and extra-curricular sports for boys and girls.
