Humphrey Cobbold has transitioned from CEO to chair of PureGym after a decade in the role. Under his leadership, PureGym expanded significantly, becoming the UK’s largest gym chain with over 300 locations and more than 1.5 million members.
Cobbold’s tenure saw the company navigate challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, and he played a crucial role in its recovery and growth. His successor as CEO is Clive Chesser, who previously served as COO. Cobbold expressed confidence in Chesser’s ability to lead the company into its next phase of growth. This change is part of PureGym’s strategy to continue evolving in the competitive fitness market.
