Gymfinity Chairman and founder of Pure Gym, Peter Roberts, has announced his investment in Another Round. The fitness app that uses AI to automate tasks rather than replacing human trainers was launched by Max Cotton, an ex-professional MMA fighter, in 2018.

The former team at Pure Gym will be joining Roberts. This includes Jacques de Bruin, Managing Director of Gymfinity Kids, the UK’s premier ninja and gymnastics activities club and nursery. The company will be using their investment to accelerate the growth of its community by expanding its coaches and advancing the product’s capabilities.

James Moore, host of The Drive Phase and CEO of Coordinate Sport, had the opportunity to speak to Peter on the podcast last month. Peter, a serial entrepreneur and investor, sat down with James to discuss his background and work in the leisure and fitness industries.

Roberts was one of the original investors in the luxury timeshare concept, Langdale. He founded Pure Gym in 2008, and the company was sold to US private equity fund Leonard Green & Partners for £600m in 2017.

Max Cotton, founder of Another Round, added:

“We’re here to give everyone access to personalised, highly effective workouts and trainers – transforming their physical health.

“Another Round was created to make health and fitness more accessible, and we’re incredibly excited to have an industry titan such as Peter Roberts onboard – recognising the shift in how consumers want to buy and experience personal training.”
